Dryed Hydrangea

So I cut this Hydrangea from my garden because I loved the color... I didn't want to stop its growth further so I didn't cut it from the stem, instead I added a stick/branch and wrapped it with green floral tape. I hung it upside down and sprayed it with hairspray and allowed it to dry for a day. Finally, placed it on an Olive Oil container... love it! Goes with my shabby kitchen...

  1. Hey, that's great! I can't seem to get those results, and I love hydrangeas. Did you hang it inside your house first, or outside? I don't have hydrangeas, but, I've read you can do that with roses...again, no luck here. I'll just have to keep trying. So good to see you here, hope you're not working too hard. See you soon.♥

    1. Hey Susan!!! Oh Thanks so much for visiting!!! I know its been such a while since I posted. I have been busy with the gardening that I forgot about everything else... I have to post pics of my new garden. I did a lot!!! Its not a beautiful as yours, or your moms... or my moms... but its getting there. lol, Your mom reminded me of my mom... she is always doing creative stuff... maybe thats where I get my "little talent" from :) As for the flowers; I sprayed them inside. I have done it with roses too which was the reason I tried it. They maintain their color and have a shiny, almost plastic look. I forget how long they have lasted before. I havent done this in years but I will let you know this time!!! Keep in touch :)

    2. Hi Ziggy! Thanks for your compliments on my gardens. My mom has always planted flowers, and, I just copied, haha! You are very talented, and, determined to succeed...so you will! I will try again spraying flowers and drying-your hydrangeas look so good. I have zinnias blooming now, and more roses should bloom in the fall. Maybe I'll try to dry some of the zinnias and see what happens. Thanks for the tips! It's so good to hear from you anytime! xoxo

  2. I just cut some hydrangeas today and I've heard different ways to dry them but I haven't heard hairspray. I'll have to try it. New Follower.
